Today was embarkation day for us. We tossed our stuff into our suitcases, checked out of our hotel, and requested a Lyft ride. The car took quite a while because it was one of the heaviest rains in San Diego history, and a lot of drivers were staying home.

We relaxed in the morning, not doing much besides a trip to the breakfast room. We also looked up activities for the day, and we settled on the Midway Museum: an aircraft carrier that served from 1945 to about 1995, converted into a museum.

The trip through the airport was a rush, and stressful. At some point, we misplaced one of our bags. It didn't have much in it, but we still didn't want to go without it.

My father is driving us to the airport after a long day of packing.

Since we're leaving Hawaii soon, and we still have a fair amount of groceries left, "J" and I decided to scrounge through the kitchen to eat as much of our groceries as we reasonably can. I don't think we'll be able to eat everything, but from previous trips we've found that cleaning people generally gather food that's still usable and share it ( Read more... )

Our first outing for the day was meeting my parents for Sunday brunch at a seaside restaurant we had been to before. Although it was kind of so-so last time, it was excellent for brunch. And of course the view was still great.

Today we had lunch at an upscale casual dining fish restaurant named Fish Hopper. It was pretty good, but at the price I wasn't all that impressed.
